Data protection

General information on data processing by Holiday Home

Within the range of the offer of Holiday Home and the use of the websites operated by Holiday Home, in particular those of the website www.holidayhome.net (including all websites operated by Holiday Home) , no personal data is collected unless you submit it to us yourself by contacting us by email or using the contact form or by providing data yourself when registering a user account or ordering a newsletter.

In these cases, the personal data you provide (e.g. email address, name) will only be used for the purpose offered by HolidayHome and requested by you (e.g. contact, newsletter, contract conclusion).

Holiday Home will not pass on the personal data you have provided to third parties, will not transfer it outside of Switzerland and will only process it in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations in Switzerland, unless you expressly consent to such transfer. You expressly consent to the data transfer for the purpose of concluding a contract. The personal data you have provided will only be used for advertising or marketing purposes with your express consent.

Storage of customer data

Customer data is stored as long as the customer has a user account or has ordered a newsletter. The customer data is deleted when the customer deletes the user account or unsubscribes from the newsletter. Inactive user accounts, that means user accounts for which 3 years have passed since the last log-in of the customer, will be deleted with the customer data after this period has expired.

Data security

We protect your personal data with suitable technical and organizational security measures and save them exclusively on secure servers. The website is secured against loss, destruction and manipulation as well as against access, modification or distribution by unauthorized persons using different measures. Particularly sensitive data (e.g. access data to the profile account) are encrypted when transmitted over the Internet (SSL).

However, Holiday Home does not guarantee the security of your password. It is your responsibility to provide a secure password for your user account, to keep it safe and to change it at regular intervals.

User account

If you set up a user account with Holiday Home, the data you enter will be saved and processed by Holiday Home. Holiday Home only uses this data to provide you with functions on the website and to improve your user experience on the website and the offer as a whole. For example, you have the option of saving and tracking offers. For this purpose, data about your work processes are saved. The search terms, offers and technical information about your device and browser are saved in detail. The data is only processed for the functions described and for statistical purposes. It will not be passed on to third parties. If you have given your express consent, we will inform you about new offers that may be of interest to you. You can delete your user account at any time. All data will be deleted. This does not include data that we have to keep due to legal regulations and data that belong to bookings.

Facebook Connect

HolidayHome also offers you the option of logging in with your existing Facebook account (Facebook Connect). If you make use of this option, Facebook will only provide us with information that you have expressly approved for us. You cannot access the other content in your profile using Facebook Connect. With the transmitted data, either a new user account is set up at Holiday Home or it is linked to the existing user account. You can remove the link from your Facebook account at any time. When using Facebook Connect, a direct connection is established to the Facebook servers, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Facebook learns that you've used your Holiday Home credentials.

Newsletter

Holiday Home offers a regular newsletter by email in order to inform about its own offers or offers from third parties. For these purposes, Holiday Home needs a valid email address and your consent to the sending of the newsletter. Only the data requested and entered in the course of registration will be collected. If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link given at the end of the respective newsletter. In addition, you can object to the use of your email address by sending an email to the address given below. Your email address will not be passed on to third parties.

Newsletter - delivery service provider

The shipping service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR and with Article 28 (3) Article 1 GDPR.

The shipping service provider can use the recipient's data in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assignment to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimize the shipping and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes. However, the shipping service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass the data on to third parties.

Newsletter – Measurement of success

The newsletters contain a so-called "pixel", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from our server when the newsletter is opened or, if we use a shipping service provider, from its server. As part of this retrieval, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval, are initially collected.

This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our aim nor, if used, that of the shipping service provider to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Third party offers

If you leave the direct offer from Holiday Home by clicking on an offer from a holiday home provider and you are being forwarded to the website of a third party or the booking mask of a third party, Holiday Home has no influence on the compliance with the data protection regulations by this third party provider. However, Holiday Home will not provide any personal data that you enter, query, collect, store or obtain knowledge of on the website of the third party, e.g. as part of a booking request.

Furthermore, content from third parties, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics, etc. from other websites can be integrated into the online offer of Holiday Home. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) are aware of the IP address of the user. Without the IP address, it is not possible to send the content to the browser of the respective user and display or represent it accordingly. Holiday Home tries to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. However, Holiday Home has no influence on whether the third-party provider stores the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. If we should know, we will inform users about it.

Cookies

When you use the Holiday Home offer, so-called cookies are stored on your computer. These are small text files that are temporarily stored in the main memory ("session cookie") or permanently stored on the hard drive ("permanent cookie"). They enable recognition as a user of the website, the browser used, the access device (e.g. PC, tablet, smartphone) etc. and serve to make the website user-friendly for the user, e.g. by adapting the display to the access device or based on a previous one, visiting the website, according to the previous use, to design user-related or to display user-related content.

Web analysis

Holiday Home carries out an analysis of various parameters relating to the use of the website in order to optimize the website and its offer. This is done with the programs (tools) named and described below.

Google Tag Manager

This service allows website-tags to be managed via an interface. The Google Tool Manager implements tags. This means: no cookies are used and no personal data is recorded. The Google Tool Manager triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. However, the Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If a deactivation has been carried out at the domain or cookie level, it will remain in effect for all tracking tags, insofar as they are implemented with the Google Tag Manager.

You can find more information about the Google Tag Manager at:

Google Analytics and Google Analytics Remarketing

These web analysis services are provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics and Google Analytics Remarketing also use cookies that are stored on your computer for the purpose of analyzing the use of the website.

The information generated by the cookie about the use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Since Holiday Home has activated IP anonymization, your IP address will be shortened beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and only be shortened there.

On behalf of HolidayHome, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide HolidayHome with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics and Google Analytics Remarketing will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; Holiday Home would like to point out, however, that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of the website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by, for example, using the browser plug available under the following link -Download and install it in: https://tools.google.com / dlpage / gaoptout? hl = de .

When using the Holiday Home offer on mobile devices, please click on the Deactivate Google Analytics link to prevent Google Analytics and Google Analytics Remarketing from being recorded on this website in the future.

Google AdWords

Conversion tracking is used via the Google AdWords service to measure the effectiveness of individual advertisements, offers and functions. A cookie is set for this as soon as you click on an ad. This cookie is not used for personal identification, but should make it possible to determine whether you are returning to the page with the specific offer while the cookie is valid for 30 days. You can prevent the storage of the Google conversion cookie by setting your browser software accordingly.

DoubleClick

The DoubleClick analysis service is also used in connection with Google AdWords. If you call up a website and display or click on an advertisement placed via websites of the Google advertising network, a DoubleClick cookie may be stored in your browser. The DoubleClick cookie identifier assigned to your browser is the same one that is used when you visit websites that use DoubleClick advertising programs. If your browser already has a DoubleClick cookie, no further DoubleClick cookie should be stored.

You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookies and relating to your use of the website and from processing this data by Google by going to https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=de and downloading and installing the availavle browser Plug-in, under the point called DoubleClick deactivation.

Bing Ads

Bing Ads technology collects and stores data from which usage profiles are created using pseudonyms. This is a service provided by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA. This service enables the activities of users on our website to be tracked if they have reached our website via advertisements from Bing Ads. If you reach our website via such an advertisement, a cookie will be placed on your computer. A Bing UET tag is integrated on our website. This is a code which, in connection with the cookie, stores some non-personal data about the use of the website. This includes, among other things, the length of time they spend on the website, which areas of the website were accessed and which advertisements were used to access the website. No information about your identity is recorded.

The information collected is transmitted to Microsoft servers in the USA and stored there for a maximum of 180 days. You can prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website and the processing of this data by deactivating the setting of cookies. This can, under certain circumstances, restrict the functionality of the website. In addition, Microsoft may be able to track your usage behavior across several of your electronic devices through so-called cross-device tracking and is thus able to display personalized advertising on or in Microsoft websites and apps. You can deactivate this at http://choice.microsoft.com/de-de/opt-out .

You can find more information about Bing's analysis services on the Bing Ads website https://help.bingads.microsoft.com/#apex/3/de/53056/2 ). More information on data protection at Microsoft and Bing can be found in Microsoft's privacy policy ( https : //privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement .

Facebook Custom Audience

Remarketing tags from the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA are integrated on our website. When you visit our website, the remarketing tags will establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. This enables Facebook to assign your visit to our website to your user account. We can use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook ads. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the website, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or of how it is used by Facebook. You can find more information on this in Facebook's privacy policy https: //www.facebook. com / about / privacy / . Social-Plug-ins

HolidayHome provides various social plug-ins. As soon as you click one of the buttons, a direct connection to the server of the relevant third-party provider is potentially established.

Facebook

As soon as you access content with a Facebook plug-in, there is the option of establishing a direct connection to the Facebook servers, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The content of the plug-in is then transmitted directly from Facebook to your device, which integrates it into the software. Holiday Home gives no guarantee for the collection of data by Facebook with the help of the plug-in and asks you to refer to the data protection information of Facebook for the necessary information: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ . Please log out of Facebook before using our website if you do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website and link it to your member data stored on Facebook.

We also offer visitors to our websites and Internet offers the Facebook service "Facebook Connect", which - like the plug-ins - is subject to Facebook's usage and data protection. If you register with us under your Facebook account, you allow your Facebook profile data and your Facebook public data from your Facebook profile to be transferred to us, and vice versa, data can also be transferred from us to your Facebook profile. Your data transmitted to us will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of registration.

If the user presses the “Instagram button” on the Holiday Home website while the user is logged into their Instagram account, the content of the Holiday Home website can be linked to the user's Instagram profile or account. This enables Instagram to assign the visit to the Holiday Home website to the user account of the respective user.

Holiday Home expressly points out that Holiday Home, as the provider of its own websites, has no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by Instagram. The user can find out about the purpose, scope and use of data collection by Instagram at http : //instagram.com/about/legal/privacy/ .

If the user is an Instagram member or has logged into Instagram and does not want Instagram to collect data about the user when accessing the HolidayHome website and link it to the user's member data stored on Instagram, the user must log in before visiting the Log out of the HolidayHome website on Instagram.
